•Blake Lively was born on 25 August 1987 in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California to Elaine Lively and Ernie Lively. Both her parents were in the business of acting, doing small time role in the television or theater and also both of them were into teaching acting. •When she was only 11, Lively acted in her father Ernie Lively’s movie called ‘Sandman’. The movie was shot in 1998 but it was never commercially released for the audience. It was Lively’s first stint with the camera and professional acting. •In 2005, the book ‘The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ was turned into a movie with the same title and Lively bagged the role of ‘Bridget’ and she was one of the four main protagonists in the movie. Her performance got her a nomination at the Teen Choice Awards. •In 2006, Lively did two movies, ‘Accepted’ with Justin Long and ‘Simon Says’ with Kelly Blatz. Although both the movies did not do that well commercially but Lively was slowly making a place for herself in Hollywood and was receiving more offers. •In 2007, lively became the part of the movie ‘Elvis and Anabelle’. She played ‘Anabelle’ in the movie, a character who was obsessed with winning a beauty pageant that she makes herself bulimic. The movie was a dark comedy and Lively had to lose a lot of weight for her role. •In 2007, ‘The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2’ came out after the movie did very well commercially and earned 40 million US dollars at the box office. The sequel was based on the last book of the series called ‘Forever in Blue. •In September 2007, CW offered Lively a meaty role of ‘Serena Van der Woodsen’ in the teleseries ‘Gossip Girl’. The series was an adaptation of the book with same title, written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The teen drama ran until 2012, portraying the life of rich youngsters of New York. •In 2009, Lively did a small role in the movie ‘New York, I Love You’, which was a sequel to the film ‘Paris, je t’aime (2006). The film did not do very well at the box office but her performance in the movie was appreciated. •In 2009, she did another small stint in the movie ‘The Private Lives of Pippa Lee’. This movie got her noticed in the Hollywood, although she only had a supporting role in the movie where she played the young version of the main protagonist. •In 2010, Lively did a breakthrough role in Ben Aflleck’s film ‘The town’, the book adaptation of ‘Princes of Thieves’. She played the role of ‘Kirsta Coughlin’ in the movie. She describes it one of the most passionate characters of her film career. •In 2011, Lively bagged the role of the female lead in the movie ‘Green Lantern’, starring opposite her future husband Ryan Reynolds. The movie did commercially very well and grossed around 219,851,172 US dollars worldwide. •Lively started dating her ‘Simon Says’ co-star Kelly Blatz and showed up with him for the first time at The L.A. premier of her movie ‘The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ in 2005. She made a public statement about their relationship saying that she had ‘a crush on him since second grade’. •In 2008, she started dating her ‘Gossip Girl’ co-star Penn Badgley but she kept it a secret for months before they were photographed by paparazzi in Cancun. They dated for two years before they called it quits in 2010. •In 2010, Lively dated Hollywood celebrity Ryan Gosling but they kept the relationship mum and made only general statements about each other publically. She attended the premier of his movie ‘Blue Valentine’. They broke up the same year. •In 2011, Lively had a summer romance with Hollywood hottie Leonardo di Caprio and they were both spotted getting cozy on a yacht during the Cannes Film Festival in France. After continuing their relationship throughout their vacation in Europe, the relationship came to an end. •In 2011, after her breakup with Leonardo di Caprio, Lively coupled up with her ‘Green Lantern’ co-star Ryan Reynolds. She attended his 35th birthday party on the sets on his movie ‘R.I.P.D.’ •In 2012, after dating Reynolds for a year, she tied wedding knots with him at the age of 25 in a secret wedding ceremony in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
