Wishing you a Blessed Epiphany.. the day the western Church celebrates the wise men came to visit baby Jesus and presented to him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. It is because of these Kings we give gifts at Christmas. I might point out there is no place in the Holy Bible that says how many Magi, Wise Men or Kings if you will came to worship him, but tradition has it as three some have even named them not sure why.. More than likely though, there was a whole caravan of them as in those days things were quite dangerous and three traveling alone would likely not have made it that far, because of thieving murders that were so plentiful that they usually traveled in a caravan. Especially when they had that expensive of parcels of Gold Frankincense and Myrrh all very expensive and very meaningful.Moreover likely three men would not have drawn the attention of Herod they did. To make a big impact a large number does a good job. Today, in some traditions, January 6th is the day gifts are exchanged. However in others there are 12th night parties also remembering the wise men and their gifts. Whatever you do or don't do, it is good to remember that this was when the wise came to visit the baby Jesus "..and fell down and worshiped him presenting unto him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh."
