Josh Hutcherson

Joshua Ryan Hutcherson was born on October 12th, 1992, in Union, Kentucky, to Michelle and Chris Hutcherson. He has one younger brother, Connor Hutcherson. Beginning from the age of four, Josh knew that he wanted to be an actor. In order to establish a solid acting career for Josh, he and his family moved to Los Angeles when Josh was nine years old and soon after, he repeatedly began landing small acting roles in film and television. In 2002, Josh landed his first acting role in the TV film House Blend (2002) (TV) and later earned a guest spot on the hit television series, "ER" (1994). For the next several years, Josh would later earn leading roles in many films including: Kicking & Screaming (2005), Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005), RV (2006), Bridge to Terabithia (2007), and Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008). After years of starring in more youthful roles and films, Josh starred in the critically acclaimed film, The Kids Are All Right (2010), for which he starred alongside Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo. The film went onto to receive several notable wins and nominations including four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. Josh's performance in the film earned him great recognition from critics and acclaimed film directors alike. In addition, Josh earned what is said to be his breakout role as Peeta Mellark in one of the most highly anticipated films of 2012, The Hunger Games (2012), the film adaptation of the massively best-selling novel written by Suzanne Collins. With his natural talent and several years of credited acting experience, there is no doubt that Josh will continue to be a thriving and sought after film actor for many years to come.Has one younger brother, Connor Hutcherson. His mother, Michelle, is a former Delta employee and his father, Chris, is an analyst for the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). Good friends with Bridge to Terabithia (2007) co-star, AnnaSophia Robb. He has two dogs named Diesel and Nixon. Has become good friends with Brendan Fraser since filming Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008). Was given a turtle by his Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005) co-star, Kristen Stewart, for his 13th birthday. Enjoys playing basketball, rock climbing, and competing in triathlons. Close friends with The Hunger Games (2012) co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth. His favorite films include Fight Club (1999), Drive (2011), and Cool Hand Luke (1967). Josh has been good friends with The Hunger Games (2012) co-star, Alexander Ludwig, since they were about 12 years old. He is a big fan of the Cincinnati Benglas and credits Rudi Johnson as his favorite player.
